Originally located in West Monroe, Louisiana in the early 80’s and at one time focused solely on retail nursery and landscaping, Thomas Nursery and Feed has evolved over three decades. The present form of the company began to take shape when John Thomas and his wife, Audrey, opened a small nursery in John's hometown of Farmerville, LA in spring of 1989. John and son, Jason, worked full time in the residential/commercial landscape aspect of the business while Audrey maintained the 800 square feet greenhouse/retail area.

In 1994, the venture expanded into the farming/agriculture side when John and Jason became Purina Dealers and built their first feed warehouse. After several years of gradual expansions to the nursery, feed and retail ends, Jason’s wife, Paula, joined the family business full time in 2001. Over the years, the retail business continues to grow. In 2015, Audrey passed away suddenly, leaving a significant gap. The family of three worked together to forge ahead to improve and grow the business.

In 2016, John Thomas retired to begin a new chapter, Jason and Paula took the reins to continue the legacy and began their own new chapter.

Present day, you will see the business fill a 30 acre site with greenhouses, feed and fertilizer warehouses, corn/rice bran bagging operations, and wholesale operations along with a large farm and garden and home showroom. You will find a large hardware/home improvement department, paint department as well as a full line of chemicals, lawn and garden products, animal health products, tack, clothing and footwear for the entire family.
